Dynamics and diversity of symbiotic bacteria in Apolygus lucorum at different developmental stages

Abstract Background Apolygus lucorum is a worldwide omnivorous pest damaging range of crops and causing great economic losses. Symbiotic bacteria living in insects play key role the nutrition, physiology, behavior hosts. Here, we present an experiment using Illumina HiSeq sequencing targeting V3–V4 regions bacteria’s 16S rRNA throughout entire life cycle A. . Results The first second instar nymphs have largest alpha diversity compared with other stages insect. Bacterial phyla Proteobacteria (72.29%), Firmicutes (15.24%), Actinobacteria (7.76%) exhibit relative abundance all developmental stages. Erwinia (23.97%) Lactococcus (10.62%) are two genera highest abundance. nymph stage significantly greater than adult stage, 6-day-old 9-day-old females higher males. Conclusions These results reveal that microbial community composition shift dynamically at different stages, implying bacterial may specific roles such as metabolism, nutrition absorption, detoxification, reproduction. This study reveals for time ecological dynamics symbiotic , thus provide insight to new strategies control.
